Dr. Adrian Lineberger, MD
Topic: Dental Anesthesia: Mishaps, Calamities, and Resolutions.
Discussion of common & potential complications of local anesthesia procedures in the office. Examples of patients with pre-existing issues that may require special approaches for dental procedures. Simple sedation techniques for phobic patients.
Speaker Biography:
Dr. Adrian Lineberger is a board-certified anesthesiologist providing expert anesthesia care throughout North and South Carolina. He oversees anesthesia services at all Carolinas Center for Oral & Facial Surgery offices, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures.
A native of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Dr. Lineberger completed his medical training at Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and received the Proctor Pediatric Award.
He completed a pediatric internship at Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut, followed by an anesthesiology residency at the University of North Carolina Hospital, where he also served as chief resident.
Following residency, Dr. Lineberger served as Chairman of the Anesthesia Department and Medical Director of Integrated Pain Services at Spectrum Health Medical System in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He also held a faculty appointment as Associate Professor at Michigan State University Medical School. In addition, Dr. Lineberger earned a degree in medical project management from the Harvard School of Public Health.

Mohamed Alhassan, PharmD
Topic: Dental Pharmacology: A Review
Speaker Biography:
Dr. Mohamed Alhassan, PharmD, is an experienced clinical pharmacist with nearly three decades of service in hospital-based pharmacy practice. He began his healthcare career as a Respiratory Therapist at Carolinas Medical Center from 1987 to 1993, followed by service at Wake Medical Center from 1993 to 1997.
Dr. Alhassan earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Campbell University and has served as a Clinical Staff Pharmacist at Carolinas Medical Center since 1997. From 2005 through 2025, he held a Charge Pharmacist position, providing leadership, clinical oversight, and mentorship within the department.
In addition to his primary role, Dr. Alhassan has worked as a PRN Clinical Staff Pharmacist at Novant Health Medical Center in Huntersville since 2012, supporting inpatient pharmacy operations across multiple clinical settings.
Dr. Alhassan is married, has two children, and enjoys traveling in his free time.

Session Description: This course provides a practical, clinically relevant review of pharmacology and anesthesia principles essential for everyday dental practice. Emphasis will be placed on safe prescribing, anesthesia risk assessment, patient selection, pediatric and medically complex patients, and legal considerations affecting dental providers. Attendees will gain actionable knowledge to improve patient safety, reduce liability, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Identify safe and effective pharmacologic strategies for common dental procedures.
2. Recognize anesthesia-related risk factors and appropriate patient selection criteria.
3. Apply current legal and regulatory standards related to anesthesia and pharmacology in dentistry.
4. Improve patient safety through evidence-based anesthesia and medication management.
