Session Description: This course will address the process of aging and its effect on our practice of dentistry. 

Educational Objectives:  Understand the complexities of aging as they pertain to treatment planning for our patients

  • Develop knowledge of treatment concerns which impact oral healthcare treatment planning for geriatric patients

  • Better understand evidence-based oral health options for geriatric patients

  • Discuss various treatment options for different problems facing geriatric patients

  • Understand adaptive devices that geriatric patients use and the impact on patient care

  • Identify and appraise the qualities of communication with geriatric patients

  • Better understand the consent process for geriatric patients with diminished mental capacity
