Speaker: Dr. Todd R. Sander
Dr. Todd R. Sander is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the School of Dentistry at Temple University, and a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency with the US Army at Fort Jackson, SC. He completed three years of active duty with the US Army Dental Corps and served in Iraq for 11 months.
Dr. Sander and his team focus their efforts to provide a relationship-based experience for patients where co-discovery and trust is the foundation to clinical decision making and treatment planning. Increasingly, his practice is more centered on advanced restorative, TMD, and Dental Sleep Medicine therapy. Dr. Sander began studying at the Pankey Institute in 2004 and credits his studies there as the primary driving force in developing excellence in the clinical and behavioral skills necessary for such a practice.
Professionally, Dr. Sander currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Pankey Institute and The American Equilibration Society. He is a Fellow in The American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, Southeast Academy of Prosthodontics, and is active in supporting the Adopt-A-Dental School program at MUSC for The Pankey Institute. Dr. Sander is a visiting faculty at The Pankey Institute and a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, South Carolina Dental Association, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
In balancing the demands of his professional life, Dr. Sander enjoys boating, tennis, and spending time with his wife, Melinda, raising their four children Rutledge(20), William(18), Helms(18), and Elizabeth(14).

Session Description: This presentation is designed to help participants recognize and manage more complex TMD and oro-facial clinical complications that commonly present in the average restorative practice so that more predictable restorative outcomes can be achieved.
Learning Objectives:
1) How to recognize oro-facial and TMD clinical presentations that may impact daily restorative dentistry in the average practice. Restorative dentistry is not just about the teeth!
2) Why routine CBCT and MRI imaging is highly valuable to the comprehensive restorative dentist and how it can enhance occlusal therapy and restorative treatment plans beyond treatment planning for implants.
3) How to create office systems to support and implement these valuable diagnostic tools.
