Course Title: Digital Implants: utilizing the full value of digital workflows in implant planning, surgery, and restoration
Speaker: Zachary Evans
Speaker Biography/Conflicts of Interest: Zach
grew up in North Augusta, SC and completed his PhD in Biomedical
Science, dental training, and residency in periodontics at the Medical
University of South Carolina, and is a Diplomate of the American Board
of Periodontology. Zach served as Assistant Professor in the MUSC
Department of Stomatology, Division of Periodontics and was director of
the Master of Science in Dentistry program. He is currently in full time
perio practice in North Carolina but continues to lecture on the
incorporation of digital systems into surgical and implant practice.
Session Description: Digital
workflows can simplify and improve implant surgical and restorative
outcomes. This results in reduced chair-time, increased profitability,
and improved precision with implant treatment. This lecture will review
strategies from start to finish of the entire implant process for
diagnostics, case planning, production of surgical guides, and digital
options for restoration.
Educational Objectives:
- Walk through the entire process from initial consultation to final restoration and postoperative implant maintenance utilizing digital technology.
- Review the value of CBCT and how to utilize these 3D images to the fullest extent for implant planning.
- Understand the rationale for guided implant surgery and review the process for virtual implant planning and surgical guide design and fabrication.
- Consider the potential processes for digital impressions and in-house and lab-driven implant restorations.
- Review the processes to 3D print surgical guides and temporary and permanent implant restorations in-house.

Course Title: "Digital Innovation in Dentistry: Unlocking the Future of Restorative Workflows"
Speaker: Dr. Casey Bennett
Speaker Biography/Conflicts of Interest: As
a restorative dentist specializing in CAD/CAM and aesthetic dentistry,
Dr. Bennett uses cutting-edge technology like Exocad, milling, and 3-D
printing at his practice on James Island to transform patient's
smiles. Along with running his practice, he serves as a faculty member
at the MOD Institue in Charleston, SC, and as a clinical instructor at
the Medical Universty. Dr. Bennett is a key opinion leader for Planmeca
and Desktop Health, and has been sharing his expertise in digital
denstiry through lectures and webinars since 2019. When he's not in
clinic or teaching, Dr. Bennett enjoys spending quality time with his
wife, Abby, and their two children, Henry and Bea.
Session Description:
Attendees will get an indepth look at multiple digital restorative
workflows, including smile design in exocad, 3-D printed shell mock ups,
direct to preparation printed provisionals, minimal preparation/no
preparation digital veneers from first appointment to final ceramics,
3-D printed occlusal guards, as well as one/two appointment digital
dentures.
Educational Objectives: Attendees should walk away from the presentation with a general knowledge of several digital restorative workflows utilizing intraoral scanning, 3-D printing, and milling, as well as learn how to start incorporating these innovative digital workflows into their own practices.
