Session Description:
From falls to accidents and sports injuries, the dental practitioner is often faced with after-hours emergencies. Patients can sustain a wide variety of injuries from crown and root fractures to luxation and avulsion injuries. In Part I, this presentation will present the updated IADT trauma guidelines. Part II emphasis will be placed on minimally invasive endodontics, what are current thoughts about endodontic access, is smaller better?

Educational Objectives:

Part I
-Attendees will see varying traumatic injuries and the management and treatment options according to new IADT guidelines with the permanent dentition.
-Attendees will learn the importance of a thorough exam and the value and limitations of pulpal testing after a traumatic injury.
-Attendees will learn about the prognosis related to each type of injury sustained

Part II
Understand principles of minimally invasive endodontics
-Differentiate between minimally invasive and traditional access approaches
-Explore technological advancements in minimally invasive endodontics
