Speaker Biography/Conflicts of Interest:

Dr. Brad Neville is a graduate of the West Virginia University School of Dentistry.  He did his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.  Following 41 years on the faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina, he now holds the title of Distinguished University Professor Emeritus.  He currently serves as the Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at Trident Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina.
Dr. Neville is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, and was the President of this specialty board in 2013-2014.  In 2005-2006, he served as President of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.  He has authored 89 journal articles and 37 book chapters.  In addition, Dr. Neville is the co-principal author of three textbooks, including Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, which currently is in its 5th edition.

Session Description: 

During this lecture, Dr. Neville will discuss a wide variety of oral lesions and conditions, with an emphasis on new entities that have been defined over the course of his career, as well as concepts that have changed about various oral diseases in recent years.

Educational Objectives: 

By the end of this course, the clinician will be familiar with current concepts related to:

  1. Oral infections
  2. Odontogenic cysts and tumors
  3. Mouth cancer and potentially malignant oral lesions
  4. Salivary gland pathology
  5. Fibro-osseous lesions of the jaws
